The Truth About Rick Simpson Oil: An In-Depth Interview With Cannabis Activist Mike Wise

Introduction: Meeting One of the World's Leading RSO Activists

When it comes to Rick Simpson Oil (RSO) and Full Extract Cannabis Oil (FECO), few people in the world have the depth of experience and credibility that Mike Wise brings to the table.

After healing his own Crohn's disease with RSO in 2014, Mike dedicated his life to cannabis activism, patient education, and providing access to quality Full Extract Cannabis Oil for people worldwide. He spent a year traveling with Rick Simpson himself, filmed two cannabis documentaries, and now manages a thriving 43,600+ member Facebook community from his base in Poland.

In this comprehensive interview, Mike shares the raw truth about RSO dosing protocols, why oral consumption is essential for serious conditions, the importance of mindset and diet in healing, and his newest mission: Full Spectrum Faith, a Rastafarian-based church where cannabis is sacrament.

Whether you're dealing with cancer, chronic pain, Crohn's disease, glaucoma, or any serious health condition, this interview provides the honest, practical guidance you need to navigate your RSO journey successfully.

🌿 Who is Mike Wise? The Patient Who Became an Activist

From Skateboarding to Cannabis: Mike's Early Journey

Mike Wise's relationship with cannabis began at age 15, though it didn't truly click for him until his senior year of high school. What started as recreational use eventually became a daily necessity—though Mike didn't understand why at the time.

"I was smoking every day, all the time," Mike explains. "I didn't know it then, but I had Crohn's disease. I'd had it for a very long time. That's why I was smoking every 20 minutes—I just needed to make my stomach feel okay."

The Texas Grow Operation: A Risky Beginning

Around 2006, while living in Texas, Mike took a bold step: he started growing cannabis. In a state where even possessing a single seed could result in significant jail time, Mike educated himself through local hydroponic stores—always careful to say he was growing "tomatoes."

"I had to go to the head shop and say, 'Hey, I want to grow tomatoes with really large... you know, I want my plants to have really large tomatoes,'" Mike recalls with a laugh. "I'd have hours-long conversations with these guys, always just talking about tomatoes."

Colorado 2014: Everything Changed

When Mike moved to Colorado in 2014, everything transformed. Cannabis was legal, and for the first time, he could openly discuss growing techniques with other cultivators. His knowledge exploded.

With a 99-plant medical count (later expanding to 595 plants as a caregiver), Mike was growing at scale. But more importantly, he was about to discover something that would change his life forever.

💊 The Crohn's Disease Discovery & RSO Healing

20 Years of Symptoms, Finally Diagnosed

While filming a documentary about families who had relocated to Colorado for medical cannabis access, Mike discovered information about Rick Simpson Oil—a concentrated cannabis extract that people claimed could "cure cancer."

Around the same time, Mike was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. Looking back, he realized he'd been managing symptoms for two decades without knowing it.

"I found out about this oil that could cure cancer, and I was like, 'Well, what can this oil do for Crohn's disease?'" Mike explains. "There was not any information about Crohn's disease on the Internet. Everything said it was uncurable. All my friends who had it were just going to the hospital every week."

The 3-Month RSO Protocol That Changed Everything

Mike decided to take Rick Simpson Oil the same way cancer patients were using it: a full 60-gram protocol over approximately three months, combined with dietary changes.

The results were immediate and dramatic.

"From the very first day I took my dose, it was like a night and day difference," Mike shares. "I didn't have to smoke every 20 minutes. I could sleep a full night's rest. I could eat a full meal. Those are all things I couldn't do really before then."

After 11 years (now approaching 12), Mike remains Crohn's-free. He depends on RSO daily to maintain his health—making him a true "Patient Zero," just like our host Al Morentin, who depends on RSO for his glaucoma.

🎬 Two Documentaries & A Year With Rick Simpson

Filming the Cannabis Movement

Mike's activism took a documentary turn when he began filming families who had moved to Colorado for cannabis access. This first documentary captured the early days of the medical cannabis movement and the desperate parents seeking help for their children.

But it was his second documentary that truly changed his trajectory.

Traveling the World With Rick Simpson

After learning about RSO and experiencing its healing power firsthand, Mike reached out to Rick Simpson for an interview. That interview turned into a year-long journey traveling the world together, educating people about Full Extract Cannabis Oil.

"It was basically the story I just told you," Mike explains. "Meeting Rick and how we just went to a bunch of places and just told people to take the oil. It's like a year-long journey of traveling with him and trying to just educate people."

This experience gave Mike unparalleled insight into RSO protocols, patient success stories, and the global suppression of cannabis medicine.

🌍 From the US to Europe: Why Mike Left America

The Stress of American Cannabis Activism

By 2017, Mike had reached a breaking point. Despite Colorado's legal status, being a cannabis activist in the United States came with constant stress, legal concerns, and threats from multiple directions.

"As an activist, I feel there's so many potential enemies out there," Mike shares. "You have to worry about criminals, and then you also have to worry about police who will equally do the same to you that criminals do to you."

The quality of food in American supermarkets was also negatively impacting his Crohn's disease management.

Rick Simpson's Invitation: "Come Live With Me"

While filming an interview with Rick Simpson in Croatia, Mike expressed his frustration with American politics and the constant stress of activism.

Rick's response was simple: "You know what? Just come over here and live with me."

Six months later, in June 2017, Mike had sold everything he owned and moved to Croatia to live with Rick Simpson. He later relocated to Poland, where he continues his mission today.

Providing RSO Worldwide

From his European base, Mike now provides Rick Simpson Oil and Full Extract Cannabis Oil to patients across the globe—Europe, the United States, Asia, and beyond.

"Pretty much everywhere," Mike confirms. "Most everywhere."

💉 The Truth About RSO Dosing: Oral vs. Suppositories

Rick Simpson's Famous Quote: "If You Don't Get High, You Don't Get Healed"

One of the most controversial aspects of RSO therapy is the psychoactive effect—the "high." Many patients, especially elderly ones who've never used cannabis, are uncomfortable with this side effect.

Mike doesn't sugarcoat his position.

"Rick Simpson is very famously quoted as saying, 'If you don't get high, you don't get healed,'" Mike states. "And I spend a lot of time every day giving people advice on how to use this plant for free. I get this question quite often."

Why Oral Consumption is Non-Negotiable

While suppositories have gained popularity as an alternative for patients who don't want to experience psychoactive effects, Mike's experience with hundreds of patients has shown a clear pattern:

Oral consumption produces more consistent, reliable results.

"I've seen hundreds of people who have had success with taking it only via suppository," Mike acknowledges. "But some patients who had cancer, the suppositories didn't really work. It just didn't work as well as taking the oil orally."

Mike explains that he hasn't experienced the same "not working" phenomenon with patients who take RSO orally. For serious conditions like cancer, he recommends oral consumption as the primary method.

Understanding the "High" as Part of Healing

Mike offers a powerful analogy: "I don't like to get cut, but when I go for surgery, I don't tell the doctor not to cut me because I don't like knives. I let him do his thing because he knows what's best."

The psychoactive effect serves a crucial purpose: it leads to deep rest and sleep, which is when the body does its most intensive healing work.

"When you feel the high, that means it's working," Mike explains. "It's followed by deep rest, and that's when your body heals the most."

Starting Small: The Rice Grain Myth

Mike cautions against the common advice to "start with a rice grain" for cannabis-naive patients.

"Somebody who has never taken cannabis their whole life, they're like 85 years old, and they take a rice grain worth of RSO—it would be kind of the same thing as someone who has never drunk alcohol just taking like six or eight shots of vodka at one time."

His recommendation: Start much smaller than a rice grain, especially for elderly patients or those who've never used cannabis. Build up slowly over time, just like you would with alcohol tolerance.

The Bottom Line on Dosing

Mike's position, based on treating hundreds of patients:

Oral consumption is most effective for serious conditions
The psychoactive effect is part of the healing process
Start small and build tolerance gradually
Suppositories can work for some, but aren't as reliable
Deep rest and sleep are when healing happens

"Do you want to get high, or do you want to die?" Mike asks bluntly. "That's the question."

🧠 The Power of Mindset: Why Some Patients Heal and Others Don't

The Patients Who Give Up

In Mike's 11+ years of helping patients with RSO, he's noticed a heartbreaking pattern among those who don't survive:

They give up mentally before their bodies give up physically.

"The few patients that I've communicated with that have passed on, ultimately they give up," Mike shares. "There's ultimately this feeling where they say, 'I can't fight anymore.' And they actually say it out loud."

The Warrior Mindset

The patients who succeed—even those given just weeks to live—share a common trait: they refuse to give up.

"The patient needs to want to fight and have the will to fight," Mike emphasizes. "That's probably one of the most important things."

Mental Health as Medicine

Mike considers mental health and state of mind just as important as the RSO itself. He advises patients to:

🧘 Eliminate sources of stress as much as possible
📵 Avoid news and social media (especially algorithm-driven content)
🎮 Focus on activities that bring joy (video games, piano, reading, board games)
👨‍👩‍👧 Spend time with supportive family and friends
🎯 Do things that brought happiness in childhood

"Try to eliminate these [stressors] as much as possible," Mike advises. "Focus on things that brought you joy."

The First Success Story: Still Alive After 11 Years

Mike's very first RSO patient exemplifies the power of both the medicine and the mindset.

"The very first few people who came to me—one was a lung cancer patient," Mike recalls. "She was like, 'Oh, I have two months to live.' The doctor said, 'Go home and die.' She was an elderly woman, 76 or something."

That was in 2014. She's still alive today.

"There's so many [stories like this]," Mike continues. "They tried everything else and it didn't work. Then they use an oil made from a plant they can grow in their house, and now they're still alive."

🥗 Diet Protocols That Support RSO Healing

Cancer Feeds on Sugar

One of the most important dietary changes Mike recommends is eliminating refined carbohydrates and sugars.

"A lot of people talk about cancer being fed by sugars," Mike explains. "So just telling people to try to avoid processed, refined carbohydrates and sugars for sure."

Mike's Dietary Recommendations

🥤 Juicing raw vegetables and fruits - Nutrient-dense, easy to digest
🥬 Eating leafy greens - High alkaline content
🥩 Meat is still okay - Not off-limits, but quality matters
Intermittent fasting - Stop eating 3 hours before bed
🚫 Avoid extended fasting - Don't fast for days (dangerous for cancer patients)

Why Intermittent Fasting Matters

Mike emphasizes that intermittent fasting isn't about not eating for days—it's about giving your digestive system rest at night.

"If you eat food right before you go to bed, a lot of the organs and parts of your body are still going to be working when you're asleep," Mike explains. "If you stop eating like three hours before bed every day, then you ensure that those organs sleep when you sleep and they're not working all the time."

High Alkaline Foods

Mike also recommends focusing on high alkaline foods to create an internal environment that doesn't support disease.

What Mike Doesn't Recommend

Interestingly, Mike keeps his recommendations focused solely on cannabis.

"I only know about cannabis, so I only recommend cannabis," Mike states. "I don't recommend anything else. I'm not even going to say other things because I don't even want to promote them."

While he acknowledges that vitamin C and other supplements might be beneficial, he prefers to stay in his lane of expertise.

⚠️ The 80-90% Who Come Too Late

Stage 4 Patients Sent Home to Die

One of the most tragic aspects of Mike's work is that the vast majority of patients who contact him have already been through the conventional medical system—and been given up on.

"It used to be over 90% of the patients who came to me were given only two weeks to live or a short amount of time," Mike shares. "They tried everything else and it didn't work. And then the doctors gave up on them and said, 'Go home and die.'"

Now, that number is closer to 80-85%—still devastatingly high.

The Absurdity of the System

Mike points out the profound irony of this situation:

"They tried everything else and it didn't work. Then they're using an oil made from a plant that they can grow in their house, and they can make the oil themselves in the house, and now they're still alive."

These patients went to doctors who spent years in university, obtained medical degrees, and received thousands of dollars in payment—yet couldn't help them.

"It turns out in the end, they could have just helped themselves," Mike observes.

Why Mike Does What He Does

This reality drives Mike's mission: empowering people to grow and make their own medicine.

"My whole thing is not like, 'Come to me and let me give you oil, you must buy it from me,'" Mike emphasizes. "I don't give a damn where you get it from. I want everybody to grow and make it themselves. That's what I want."

🌱 Mike's Ultimate Mission: Everyone Should Grow Their Own

Free Education Over Profit

Unlike many in the cannabis industry, Mike's primary goal isn't profit—it's education and empowerment.

On his website (oglabsgenetics.com), every product has an accompanying video showing how to make it yourself at home.

"I want everybody to do this," Mike states passionately. "The only reason I do it is because there are scammers and people, and I don't want them to go to them. So if they have no other option but going to a scammer, look, I'm here. But if not, please learn how to do it yourself."

The Scammer Problem

Mike explains that the RSO scammer industry is likely an organized operation—offices full of people creating fake profiles to steal money from desperate patients.

"I think it's an office and there's people who go into work every day and they're paid to make fake profiles to scam people," Mike believes. "These people live in Africa in poverty conditions. So it's like you can't even honestly blame them. But if they knew what they were doing, they probably wouldn't."

Grassroots Law Reform

Mike's strategy for changing cannabis laws isn't through traditional lobbying—it's through mass adoption.

"I feel that if so many people are growing and making this themselves, then eventually the law is going to have to change because too much information is going to be out there," Mike explains.

He references the recent New York Post article claiming medical marijuana is a "big lie"—and the hundreds of comments from people sharing their success stories.

"People are finally seeing that it works with their own eyes," Mike observes. "There's no reason for them to believe someone saying that it should still be illegal."

The Irrationality of Schedule 1

Mike points out the absurdity of cannabis being classified as Schedule 1—worse than cocaine (Schedule 2).

"It's 2026, and we're still saying that a plant is bad," Mike says incredulously. "That's the argument. We don't live in a rational system."

⛪ Full Spectrum Faith: Cannabis as Religious Sacrament

From Skepticism to Ministry

Ten to fifteen years ago, cannabis "churches" were common—often as a way to circumvent local ordinances. Mike was initially turned off by this approach.

But recently, he's taken a different path: creating a legitimate, faith-based organization where cannabis is genuinely sacrament.

Ordained Minister & Rastafarian Religion

Mike was ordained as a minister five years ago and has now founded Full Spectrum Faith, a Rastafarian-based church.

"Rastafari was formed in Jamaica and mainly promotes healthy living," Mike explains. "Kind of like we just have been talking about on the whole episode—knowing what you eat, knowing how to be a good person, knowing that there's huge oppressive structures that are keeping us down."

Babylon vs. The Oppressed

In Rastafarian philosophy, there are essentially two groups: the oppressors (Babylon) and the oppressed.

"It's kind of just about letting people know to be the best person they can and to hopefully gain more cheer and happiness through faith and fellowship," Mike shares.

Cannabis as Sacrament

Just as Christians use wine and Native religions use peyote, Rastafarians use cannabis (ganja) as their sacrament.

"At my church, obviously the name of it is Full Spectrum Faith, so a lot of it is going to be based around trying to help people learn about the healing oils of cannabis," Mike explains.

Non-Profit Access to Medicine

Mike's vision for Full Spectrum Faith includes providing fellowship services where people can access cannabis sacrament at donation prices—removing the profit motive from medicine.

Cannabis in the Original Bible

During the interview, Al shares a fascinating historical detail: cannabis was likely in the original Bible.

A biblical cosmology researcher explained that the holy anointing oil mentioned in scripture contained an ingredient called "Kenobos"—which was mistranslated as calendula but was actually cannabis.

"Only the priests and the kings were anointed with this," Al explains. "It was actually cannabis oils that they were using way back then."

Mike confirms he's seen this research himself: "I've read the verses and I've translated it as cannabis myself. I think they at some point changed it on purpose."

🏁 Balancing Activism With Life: NASCAR, Wakeboarding & More

The Activist Who Races

One of the most unique aspects of Mike's life is his ability to balance intense activism with high-adrenaline hobbies.

In 2024, Mike began racing in the NASCAR Euro Series—a dream come true.

"This year I started driving in the NASCAR Euro Series, which was an absolute treat, and I'm super blessed to do it," Mike shares. "I didn't die in my first year, and I ended the year with a podium."

He proudly wears the hat he received for finishing third place in Belgium.

From Board Sports to Motorsports

Mike has been an athlete his entire life, starting with skateboarding and wakeboarding. Now, as his body ages, he's transitioning more toward motorsports.

"I've always been an athlete, so now that my body's getting a little bit older, I think I'm transitioning more to the motorsports and less of the board sports," Mike explains.

Keeping Activism Separate on Social Media

Mike maintains two distinct social media presences:

📘 Facebook (The Mike Wise Show) - Cannabis activism, RSO education, patient support
📸 Instagram (@mikewiseshow) - Motorsports, wakeboarding, lifestyle content

"I really don't like when people message me on [Instagram] about cannabis either, just because I feel like I like to keep it separate worlds," Mike explains.

This separation allows him to maintain balance and avoid burnout—a crucial lesson for long-term activists.

📊 The Mike Wise Community: 43,600+ Members Strong

A Global Support Network

Mike's Facebook group, The Mike Wise Show, has grown to over 43,600 members—making it one of the largest RSO-focused communities in the world.

"For a cannabis group, that's quite active," Mike notes.

Free Advice & Education

Mike spends significant time each day providing free advice to community members—answering questions about dosing, protocols, sourcing, and more.

"I spend a lot of time every day giving people advice on how to use this plant for free," Mike shares.

Connecting Patients Worldwide

The community serves as a hub for:

🌍 Global RSO access - Connecting patients with trusted sources
📚 Education - Sharing protocols, success stories, and research
💬 Support - Peer-to-peer encouragement and guidance
⚠️ Scam prevention - Warning about fake RSO sellers
🤝 Fellowship - Building relationships with like-minded people

🔑 Key Takeaways: What You Need to Know About RSO

1. Oral Dosing is Essential for Serious Conditions

While suppositories work for some patients, oral consumption produces more consistent results for cancer and serious chronic diseases. The psychoactive effect is part of the healing process.

2. "If You Don't Get High, You Don't Get Healed"

Rick Simpson's famous quote holds true. The high leads to deep rest and sleep—when your body does its most intensive healing work.

3. Start Small and Build Tolerance

Don't start with a "rice grain" if you're cannabis-naive. Start much smaller and gradually increase over days and weeks.

4. Mindset is as Important as Medicine

Patients who give up mentally don't survive, even with the best RSO. Maintain a warrior mindset and the will to fight.

5. Eliminate Stress Sources

Turn off the news, avoid social media algorithms, and focus on activities that bring joy and peace.

6. Diet Matters

Avoid refined sugars and carbohydrates (cancer feeds on sugar), juice raw vegetables, eat leafy greens, and practice intermittent fasting (stop eating 3 hours before bed).

7. Rest is Non-Negotiable

You cannot work 12-hour days and expect to heal. Your body needs deep rest to repair itself.

8. 80-90% of Patients Come Too Late

Most people who seek RSO have already been sent home to die by conventional medicine. Don't wait until you're stage 4—start early if you're dealing with a serious condition.

9. Quality Matters

95% of RSO on the market is garbage or outright scams. Source from trusted activists like Mike Wise or learn to make your own.

10. Everyone Should Learn to Grow

The ultimate goal is empowerment—learning to grow cannabis and make your own Full Extract Cannabis Oil at home.

📖 The Bigger Picture: Why RSO Matters

A Century of Suppression

Cannabis has been suppressed for over 100 years—not because it's dangerous, but because it's too effective and too accessible.

As Mike points out, it's absurd that in 2026, we're still arguing about whether a non-toxic plant should be legal while cocaine (Schedule 2) is considered less dangerous than cannabis (Schedule 1).

The Forbidden Elixir of Hope

Rick Simpson Oil and Full Extract Cannabis Oil represent something powerful: medicine that people can make themselves, without pharmaceutical companies, without insurance gatekeepers, and without government permission.

This is why it's been suppressed. This is why it's been demonized. And this is why activists like Mike Wise are so crucial.

Medical Freedom is Personal Freedom

As Mike's Rastafarian philosophy emphasizes, there are the oppressors (Babylon) and the oppressed. Medical freedom is a cornerstone of personal sovereignty.

"Sick people are controllable people," as the saying goes. "Healthy people are free."

The Grassroots Revolution

Mike's strategy—empowering everyone to grow and make their own medicine—is the path forward. When enough people have access to the truth and the tools, the laws will have to change.

We're already seeing it happen. Despite articles like the New York Post claiming medical marijuana is a "big lie," hundreds of people in the comments share their success stories.

The truth is spreading. The Forbidden Elixir is being rediscovered.
